The 2007 version of “Hairspray” will kick off the YWCA’s new “Black and White Movies” Racial Justice Film Series at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8.
In “Hairspray,” a 1960s teen sets out to integrate a local TV dance show in Baltimore. This movie is rated PG.
Admission is free. Popcorn and soda pop will be available for purchase.
As part of the new film series, the public is invited to take part in a movie and discussion from 6:00p to 9:00p, one Thursday each month in the YWCA gym, 605 N. 6th Street, Lafayette.
Other upcoming movies will include “Guess Who” on February 5, “Crash” on March 5, and “Pride” on April 2.
