WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Instrumentalists throughout Greater Lafayette are welcome to participate in Purdue’s Summer Band, which is led by Jay Gephart, director of Purdue Bands.

The Purdue Summer Band will play a program of light classics and Broadway at 7 p.m. July 16 at Slayter Center of Performing Arts, and meets twice a week for a month prior to the concert. It is open to Purdue students, high school students, university faculty and staff, and area musicians. No auditions are necessary.

Rehearsals will be held in Elliott Hall of Music from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning Tuesday (June. 16). Those needing an instrument can check one out from the Bands’ Supply Office prior to the first rehearsal.
Purdue students wishing to obtain credit for their participation can receive two hours of credit by enrolling in either Band 330 or Band 340. All participants should download and submit the participation form found at http://www.purdue.edu/bands/news/090527Summer.html
