Kid Cudi to play Elliott Hall of Music on March 26

Kid Cudi will play Elliott Hall of Music on March 26th. Cudi almost played Elliott earlier this year as part of Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour, but was replaced on the tour by glam-rock band, Semi Precious Weapons. Officially, Cudi bowed out of the Monster Ball Tour due to time conflicts, but it is widely suspected that an altercation with a fan at a Vancouver concert played a large part in the decision.

Purdue’s Student Concert Committee is presenting the performance.

Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi) first gained major attention after the release of his debut mixtape “A Kid Named Cudi.” In 2009 Kid Cudi’s single “Day ‘n’ Nite” reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. “Day ‘n’ Nite” is part of Cudi’s debut album “Man on the Moon: The End of Day,” featuring the song “Pursuit of Happiness” with MGMT. Kid Cudi was nominated for three 2010 Grammy Awards for his singles “Day ‘n’ Nite” and “Make Her Say.”

Kid Cudi also has worked with Lady Gaga, Kanye West and Common, and he is featured in the new HBO comedy series “How to Make it in America.”

B.o.B. (Bobby Ray Simmons) is a recording artist and producer from Atlanta. His first single, “I’ll Be in the Sky,” was released in late 2008. called the song a “smart, funky artrap and a strong prelude to his album” and included it at No. 13 on its subjective ranking Top 100 Rap Songs of 2008.

B.o.B. currently has the No. 1 Heatseeker single on Billboard with “Nothin’ On You” (featuring Bruno Mars). His debut album, “B.o.B. Presents The Adventures of Bobby Ray,” will be released on April 27.
