TAF’s Bravo Brunch for the Arts honors supporters, awards grants

Bravo Brunch for the ArtsLAFAYETTE, Ind. — Tippecanoe Arts Federation held their annual Bravo for the Arts this week for nearly 250 attendees. Bravo for the Arts brings together legislators, business owners and employees, arts administrators, artists and community volunteers to celebrate all those who create and support the arts. The event was made possible through the generosity of Duke Energy, 1st Source Bank, WBAA, University Plaza Hotel and artist Mary Thomas Firestone.

The event began with a welcome address by emcee Eric Van Cleave. The event highlights included a proclamation of Arts and Humanities Month from Mayor Tony Roswarski, Representative Randy Truitt, and Senator Ron Alting and a keynote address by Ramona Baker, director of the Master of Arts in Arts Administration Program at Goucher College and board of directors member of the Americans for the Arts. Ramona gave an energetic and inspiring address about the importance of the arts and voicing that enthusiasm for the arts in our community. Additionally, Wilson Industrial Sales Company out of Newton County received the 2010 Bravo Award for their outstanding contributions to arts and cultural organizations. The prestigious John Corey Award went to David Lahr for his hard work and dedication to many of the arts and cultural organizations in Tippecanoe County.
