Saturday Cinema to showcase local, independent art films

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Saturday Cinema will be hosted again on February 12th in downtown Lafayette’s LaLa Gallery, 609 Main St. Doors will open at 5:40p and the show will begin at 6p.

Saturday Cinema was created by LaLa Gallery owner Angela Vinson and video producer Manny Cervantes. The goal of the program is to serve as a forum for local film and video artist to present their work and to have people come to look at films, to learn from films and to create an environment to discuss films. This is the second installment of the collection of films for 2011. In addition to the screening on February 12th, there will also be screenings on March 12th, and April 9th.

The February edition of Saturday Cinema will feature a series of short films made by past and present Purdue students. Films by Justin Lucas, Will Kioultzopoulos, Sam Braden, Josh Cassida, Patrick Foster, Alex Lukens, Harry Nelson and others will be screened. A question and answer session will follow the presentation of the shorts.
