CFGL announces 2010 application process for discretionary grants

Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette logoLAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette announces that discretionary grants will be available again in 2010. There will be three separate funding tiers and deadlines for discretionary grant proposals in 2010.

  • Tier 1 – Proposals requesting $15,000 and more
    Deadline for proposals: Noon, April 1, 2010
  • Tier 2 – Proposals requesting $7,500 – $14,999
    Deadline for proposals: Noon, September 1, 2010
  • Tier 3 – Proposals requesting less than $7,500
    Proposals accepted year-round until noon, December 1, 2010

The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette’s Board of Directors has set the following funding priorities: Education, Children/Youth, Health, Diversity, Physical Environment, and Arts & Culture. Priority is given to projects that reach as many people as possible, improve the ability of organizations to serve the community over the long term, serve the Greater Lafayette area, and are run by non-profit organizations.

Grant seekers are encouraged to submit proposals that include diverse financial support and that do not rely on the community foundation for 100% of the funding.

Additional guidelines are listed with the application information on the Web site. It is a competitive process and the CFGL urges those with questions to contact them as soon as possible. The deadline for the first round of funding is Noon on April 1st.

The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette, established in 1970, serves the Tippecanoe County area. Its mission is to inspire, nurture, and practice philanthropy, stewardship, and leadership in the communities served.
