Deadlines approaching to apply for remaining CFGL grants

Community Foundation GrantsLAFAYETTE, Ind. -– There are still opportunities for discretionary and field of interest grant funding from The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette this year, but the deadline to apply for these grants is approaching.

  • Tier 2 Discretionary grant proposals requesting $7,500 – $14,999 are due by noon, September 1, 2011.
  • Field of Interest grant proposals address needs (in the areas of children’s needs, music education for disadvantaged children, and community beautification) are due by noon on September 1, 2011.
  • Tier 3 Discretionary grant proposals requesting less than $7,500 are being accepted year-round, and the final deadline is noon, December 1, 2011.

The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette, established in 1970, serves the Tippecanoe County area. Its mission is to inspire, nurture, and practice philanthropy, stewardship, and leadership in the communities served. More than 125 charitable funds totaling $30 million in assets make up The Community Foundation. During its history over $13 million has been granted to not-for-profit organizations in Greater Lafayette. In 2010, 69 nonprofit organizations received grants, and 48 individuals received scholarships totaling $636,221 in 2010.
