Purdue WorkLife Caregiver Fair to provide info on numerous services

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A family caregiver fair at which attendees can receive information on caring for aging or disabled loved ones, is scheduled for May 20 in the Purdue University Memorial Union’s North Ballroom.

The fourth annual Family Caregiver Resource Fair is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is being led by Purdue’s WorkLife Programs. It is open to the public, and no registration is necessary.

Some 34 agencies and businesses will attend the event to provide information on the many services offered in the area.

“We had 14 agencies and businesses participating in three years ago, then went to 19 and now to 34, so it just keeps growing because there are so many services out there available to caregivers,” said Branna Smith, a WorkLife specialist in the Human Resource Services Department. “Basically, this is a one-stop shop to get a lot of answers and relieve some of the stress for caregivers who just might not have the time in their busy schedules to check out all the resources available to them.”

Parking will be available in the Grant Street Parking Garage. For more information, call WorkLife Programs at (765) 494-5461 or visit its Web site at http://www.purdue.edu/worklife.
