Early morning accident injures two near Buck Creek

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department, Buck Creek Fire and Tippecanoe Emergency Ambulance Service responded to S.R. 26 near C.R. 900 East for a two-vehicle personal injury pin-in crash.

Nicole Minniear of Rossville was driving on S.R. 26 when her 1999 GMC Jimmy collided head-on with a 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by Jennifer Miller of Michigantown. Minniear was pinned inside her vehicle and had to be extricated by Buck Creek fire personnel. Minniear was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital and later transferred to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis by PHI. Miller was transported to Home Hospital.

The investigation is continuing to determine exactly how the crash occurred. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
