Ivy Tech-Lafayette Nursing students hold cornhole tournament to help fight breast cancer

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Nursing students at Ivy Tech Community College-Lafayette will hold a Breast Cancer Awareness Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, October 2, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on the college’s Lafayette campus located at 3101 S. Creasy Lane. Proceeds will be donated to help fight breast cancer.

Cost to enter the tournament is $10 per person. Registration will be available prior to a double-elimination tournament. Prizes will be presented to overall winners.

The tournament is organized by Students for Nursing Excellence, a group of Ivy Tech nursing students. The group is dedicated to providing a community service by raising awareness to pertinent health issues, setting an example of nursing to those they serve, and developing leadership and professionalism among its members.

Ivy Tech Community College is the state’s largest public postsecondary institution and the nation’s largest singly accredited statewide community college system serving nearly 200,000 students annually.
