Purdue University,
located in West Lafayette, enrolls around 30,000 students each year.
Enrollment of incoming freshman has increased every year for the past four
years, despite a nationwide trend toward declining enrollment of first year
students. Purdue is famous for its
Schools of
Engineering, and has b schools in the following fields:

College for everyone
Ivy Tech
State College is a public, statewide, open-access,
community-based, technical college. The College's mission is to enable
individuals to develop to their fullest potential and to support the
economic development of Indiana.... The College provides courses, degree
programs, counseling and related services, technical assistance, and
community service to individuals, communities, and businesses and
industries across the state. Ivy Tech promotes educational mobility
through partnerships with local schools and other higher education
institutions.

A student living in Tippecanoe County may be enrolled in one of four school corporations - the Lafayette School Corporation (LSC), Tippecanoe County School Corporation (TSC), or the West Lafayette Schools Corporation. Parents may also choose a Public Charter School, one of the Lafayette Catholic Schools, or a private school.
About the School Systems
Tippecanoe School Corporation is the largest
of the school corporations with 8836 students enrolled in its seven
elementary schools, five middle schools and two high schools.
Lafayette School Corporation, with eleven
elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school, enrolls 7267
students. West Lafayette School Corporation has
2064 students in its two elementary schools, one middle school and one high
school. The Lafayette Catholic Schools serve 900
students.
