PEFCU names Koehler Executive Vice President

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. –– Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) has announced the promotion of Gail Koehler to executive vice president. In her new position, Koehler is responsible for research and development of new information technology and electronic delivery channels. She also serves as president and chief operating officer of CU Channels LLC, the credit union’s Credit Union Service Organization, as well as Passageways LLC, a software company in which the credit union has invested.

“Through her leadership, Gail has helped PEFCU become a model within the financial services industry for revolutionary technology solutions,” said Bill Connors, PEFCU chief executive officer. “We look forward to her taking a more active role in the development of our long-term strategy.”

Koehler joined PEFCU in 1991 and has been involved in the financial services industry for more than 25 years. Among her accomplishments, Koehler directed the 1997 implementation of multi-function, self-service kiosks, which utilize biometrics to ensure positive member identification—making PEFCU the first financial institution in the country to successfully use biometric identification in a member-facing application.

In addition, Koehler volunteers her time and expertise to trade and local organizations. She contributes as vice chair of the Credit Union National Association Technology Council’s Executive Committee and vice chair of Summit Information Systems’ Client Group Board. Koehler also serves on the board of the YWCA of Greater Lafayette.
