St. Elizabeth Regional Health employees receive certifications

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Three St. Elizabeth Regional Health employees recently received certifications from Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation in LaCrosse, Wisc.
Mindy Hoffman, R.N., M.S., CFNP, manager of Palliative Care; Cecilia May, M.D., a hospitalist for Sigma Medical Group and medical director of Palliative Care; and Bronwen Everton, ACSW, LCSW, division director of Social Work/Discharge Planning; all completed coursework and received certifications as advance care planning facilitators and certified instructors for Respecting Choices. Respecting Choices is a program that was developed by the Gundersen Lutheran Medical Foundation.
Hoffman, May and Everton completed the course over three days. While there, they learned the skills needed to be an advance care planning facilitator, how to design systems for successful implementation of the advance care planning program and how to teach the course.
