WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University is offering a summer class to help current and future college students survive in the classroom.
The College of Liberal Arts will offer the eight-week class “How to Survive at College” starting June 10 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8:50 p.m.
The class is open to anyone, including adults returning to school, incoming college students and college seniors preparing for graduate school, said Sara Coffman, instructional development specialist and course instructor.
Working in small groups, students practice how to take multiple-choice tests, answer essay questions and study with a college textbook. Students also will apply speaking, comprehension and writing skills by reading the book “Dances with Wolves” and comparing it to the movie.
For more information about the course, contact Coffman at (765) 494-5110, sjcoffman@purdue.edu.
Current and incoming Purdue students can register for the class through their academic adviser. Others should contact the Office of Admissions at (765) 494-1776 for fee and course information. Students can register until the first day of class to avoid a late fee.
The course number is GS290X.
