LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The Association of Women Business Owners will hold its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 9 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at MCL Cafeteria, West Lafayette. Guests and visitors are welcome.
Billie K. Dragoo is the President and Owner of RepuCare Inc. and RepuStaff LLC of Indianapolis. As one of the 25 largest women-owned businesses in Central Indiana (Indianapolis Business Journal), Billie is very active on professional boards and in her responsibilities as the 2005/2006 President of the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO).
In 2004, Dragoo was awarded NAWBO Indianapolis Member of the Year. Her inspiring story of overcoming obstacles as a woman in business shows her dedication to the advancement of women and her attitude of determination. Her struggles and triumphs in her professional career are based on her favorite ideology from Moby Dick, “…it’s like being in a small row boat with tartar sauce looking up at the great whale in a really bad storm and knowing that you will survive.”
Dragoo will discuss the trials of owning a small business, the successes from being a Certified Woman Business Enterprise (WBE), and issues concerning access to capital and affordable health care, mentoring and some great reads for women in business.
Annual membership in AWBO is $55. For information about AWBO membership, contact Membership Vice President Elaine Todd at 765-474-3220 or cetodd@verizon.net.
