Purdue’s elevator pitch competition open to entrepreneurs

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Registration is now open for the Elevator Pitch Competition to be held March 28 at the Burton Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship in Purdue University’s Discovery Park.

The competition is open to students, faculty and entrepreneurs from Purdue Research Park.

Sponsored by the Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, the contest gives participants two minutes to quickly describe their entrepreneurial business venture to a panel of judges. The competition is named for the way in which a concept would be presented to a potential financier during a short elevator ride.

There will be two divisions: one for certificate program students and one for faculty entrepreneurs or representatives from Purdue Research Park companies.

Winners in each category will receive prizes of $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third. The competition is sponsored by Otis Elevator Co. and the law firm Bose McKinney and Evans.
