Campus rooftops not open for fireworks viewing

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue police are reminding all on campus that the fun and festivity of the July 4 Stars and Stripes Celebration at Slayter Center does not extend to the roofs of campus buildings. Employees should not use or attempt to use roofs as viewing points, and they should note whether any roof access doors are not securely locked.

The musical program will begin at 7 p.m. and fireworks will start about 10 p.m., staging on the Gold intramural fields between Third Street and Stadium Avenue. Viewing from a portion of the fields is allowed.

More information about the program, logistics, VIP tickets to support the event and a link to a map are at http://news.uns.purdue.edu/UNS/hp/DeckerStarsstripes.html
