Purdue student who died in Hawkins Hall fall identified

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The body found early Tuesday (Dec. 2) at the Hawkins Hall loading dock was positively identified Wednesday (Dec. 3) as that of Purdue University student Michael K. Allen.
According to the office of the Tippecanoe County coroner, Allen’s death was caused by falling from a significant height. Allen, 20, of Fremont, Calif., was a junior majoring in electrical and computer engineering

Allen’s body was found by a service worker at Hawkins about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 2). Foul play is not suspected, according to the coroner’s office.

Hawkins, a residence hall for graduate and older undergraduate students, is near the corner of Sheetz and West Wood streets.
