WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A Purdue University student was beaten and robbed outside Tarkington Hall around midnight Saturday (Dec. 19).
According to Purdue police, a man approached the student and asked to use his cell phone. After the man had the cell phone, he struck the victim before fleeing the area in a black SUV driven by another person.
The victim, who sustained minor injuries, described the attacker as white man in his early 20s with short brown hair and a medium build. He was approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and was wearing a dark-colored T-shirt and jeans. According to police, no weapons were displayed during the incident.
