PUPD arrests student for possession of psilocybin mushrooms, Adderall

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University police on Tuesday (Feb. 16) arrested a student on drug charges.

Hillenbrand Hall, Purdue University

Daniel M. Greenhill, 19, a freshman in the College of Engineering from Highland Park, Ill., faces preliminary charges of possession of a narcotic drug and possession of a Schedule II narcotic. Both are Class D felonies, punishable by a maximum of three years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Acting on a tip, police received a warrant to search Greenhill’s fourth-floor Hillenbrand Hall room around 6:30 p.m., said Lt. Fred Davis. Officers found more than 23 grams of psilocybin mushrooms in the room and seven pills thought to be Adderall that Greenhill was allegedly carrying, Davis said.

Adderall is a Schedule II narcotic, which is legally defined as having a high abuse risk but also has safe and accepted medical uses, usually prescribed to those diagnosed with ADD or ADHD.

Just gonna toss this out there, but if you don’t want stories about your kid getting busted for possession to appear in the paper… teach your kid not to do drugs?

Seems to me that its pretty clear that this doesn’t state who the tip was about, rather where the person lived – which just so happened to be the same place greenhill lived.

Coincindence? Who gives a crap, nothing here has been misrepresented.

  4. sucks for that dude. was he prescribed the Adderall?

So wait, what do you dispute Debbie?

    (1) there was a tip
    (2) a warrent was issued to search the room Dan lives in
    (3) mushrooms and drugs were found
    (4) Dan was arrested

Those seem to be the facts stated in the article. Which ones arn’t true?

  6. whom ever you are carolyn-you are wrong. please do tell of your known facts.

  7. jim, retract your story

  8. there was not a tip about daniel greenhill. there was a tip about his roomate cameron mc lluand. get your facts straight.

    • That police received a tip, and based upon that information the police were issued a warrant to search the room in which Mr. Greenhill (among others) happens to reside are all true statements. The only parties named in the story are those who were actually arrested and charged.
