Purdue senior arrested, charged with several campus thefts

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University police on Friday (April 22) arrested a student in connection with several campus thefts.

Andrew Skyler Allen, 24, a senior in the College of Liberal Arts from Walkerton, Ind., was preliminarily charged with four counts of theft. Allen allegedly took an LCD overhead projector from Brown Laboratory of Chemistry, two touchscreen monitors from Wetherill Laboratory of Chemistry, and a bicycle and amplifier from Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. The items were valued at more than $8,000 total.

Theft is a Class D felony punishable by a maximum of three years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Allen was being held in Tippecanoe County Jail on $5,000 bond.
