Boudia extends record with 10th career Big Ten Weekly Award

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue sophomore David Boudia was named Big Ten Diver of the Week on Tuesday for the 10th time in his career, extending the all-time mark for weekly conference honors that he broke last month.

Boudia led a Boilermaker sweep of the top five places from both springboards as 19th-ranked Purdue defeated Michigan State last weekend. The defending NCAA champion in the 3-meter and platform began his day by scoring 377.40 points to top the 1-meter field. He then moved to the 3-meter, where he tied his season-best score of 469.80 to take the victory. Boudia has won five of the six events he has entered this season, with the lone exception being a second-place finish in the 3-meter at the Ohio State Invitational.

Boudia has competed in three meets this season, and all three performances have resulted in a Big Ten Diver of the Week honor. Teammate David Colturi won back-to-back conference accolades earlier this season to give Purdue five of the 10 awards given out this season by the Big Ten.

The Purdue swimming and diving team returns to competition this weekend. The majority of the team hosts Ball State on Friday at 6 p.m. ET, while a select group of eight swimmers and one diver travels to Dallas for The Classic at SMU.
