Women’s Basketball: Purdue loses to Minnesota, 74-47

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Boilermakers suffered an embarrassing 74-47 loss to the Golden Gophers in Minneapolis on Thursday.

Purdue tallied a season-high 32 turnovers, 17 in the first half alone. The two highest scorers for the game, Alex Guyton (SOPH) and KK Houser (FRSH), each had 8 points.

Minnesota’s stats, on the other hand, tell a happier tale. Kiara Buford led the Gophers with 18 points, Ashley Ellis-Milan finished the game with 17 points, and China Antoine had 16 points.

Purdue hit 50 percent of its shots in the second half, connecting on 12 of 24 for the period, but gave up 57.1 percent (16 of 28) field goal percentage to the Golden Gophers.

The Boilermakers play their next game at home on Sunday when they host the Iowa Hawkeyes. Tip off is at noon.
