Centralized Emergency Fund:
This is a fund of a last resort to be used after all public programs have been
tried (i.e., Trustee, Food Stamps, Welfare, etc.) It is recommended that you
take your pay stubs with you. This program's hours are 8:15 a.m.-12:00 noon,
Monday through Friday. the program works on a first come, first served basis.
The first twelve people each morning are seen.
Advocates Program:
This program's hours are 8:15 a.m.-11:30 a.m. weekdays. The program works on a
first come first served basis. the advocate will accompany people to the
Township Trustee's Offices, Welfare Department, Food Stamp Office and Social
Security office to help with procedures and needs. Can also refer to private
agencies and charitable groups. No referral is needed. There is no charge.
Anyone having general welfare needs or problems with the above programs can
ask for assistance, mornings only.

Short-term emergency help is available such as limited financial help towards rent, utilities, overnight shelter for transients (except when L.U.M. shelter is open), prescription medications and transportation. Help toward furniture, clothing and household items is available from the Salvation Army Thrift Store. These items should be applied for at 110 Union Street; however, no assistance is given directly from store.
Assistance is available at Christmas for families and individuals. Food, toys and clothing are provided.
