D.T. Kirby’s

Located across from the Old Theater in Downtown Lafayette, D.T. Kirby’s is great for everyone and, for someone from or fond of Chicago culture, it is a real treat. The drinks are good and there is a great selection, but the food and atmosphere are the real selling points.

The bar owner is a Chicago native who treats everyone as a long absent friend while serving up a pint of your choice.

The food, however, is what makes Kirby’s a slice of Chicago in Lafayette. The sandwiches are spectacular and the portions are large, so you get your money’s worth. It is also the only place in town to get a GOOD Chicago-style hotdog with the neon relish, sport peppers, celery salt, cucumber slices, poppy seed bun, etc… If you’ve never had one, try one, they are the only way to eat a hotdog and D.T.
