  1. First timer at Mountain Jacks for my son’s gradution. First of all Katie, manager, went out of her way to accomodate my family all week to obtain a reservation for us on a very busy night. We were not disappointed. The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. Thank you, Katie, for a most enjoyable evening. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.

I ate there on Saturday with my family and waited 45 minutes to be seated for the best steak I have ever had. If you love a blue cheese steak, the Fillet Neil is to die for. The service was perfect, the atmosphere was comfortable, the food was excellent, and the price was acceptable. Four meals and drinks ran us $120, which you will spend $70-$80 at Applebee’s for a mediocre meal. I will defiantly be returning there the next time I am in Lafayette and suggest you treat yourself to this wonderful restaurant.

i love mountain jack’s! their steak is wonderful!! i was sad to see that the salad wheel is no longer left at the tables, but i can see why they don’t do it any longer. the first time i went to MJ’s was over 2 decades ago and have always had great service every time i’ve gone. the only complaint i have is that sometimes they keep it a little dark in there, which is fine for a date night, but hard if you’re eating with the entire family.

WE ATE AT MOUNTAIN JACKS ON SATURDAY FEB 20. tHERE WERE SIX OIN OUR PARTY WE WERE SEATED AT A TABLE FOR FOUR. wE ASKED FOR A BIGGER TABLE AND THE LADY TOLD US THEY HAD NO OTHER TABLES. WE WERE SEATED AND ONLY TWO OTHER PEOPLE WERE SEATED THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE THERE. THERE WERE ALL KINDS OF TABLES WITH EMPTY. OUR STEAKS WERE TOUGH AND THE KIND OF SERVICE WE RECEIVED WAS NOT RIGHT. WE ASKED TO SEE THE MANAGER AND SHE WAS NO PLACE TO BE FOUND. sO TO SAY THE LEAST WE WILL NEVER EAT AT mOUNTAIN jACKS AGAIN.

My husband went here to celbrate our valentines.I truly enjoyed the food and service.I do wish they would change the decor a little. We sat under a huge picture which featured a slave plowing the land.A little offensive to a black couple such as ourselves!!

My daughter is a student at Purdue and we absolutely love Mountain Jack’s. It is by far the best place to eat in Lafayette. The creative menu is full of wonderful selections, the atmosphere is nice, and the service is usually very good. Love the steak dijon!!

My husband and I ate there once and the experience was pleasing. Both the steak and the prime rib were flavorful and tender. The waiter was on the ball and the service was very above average. If we end back up in Lafayette, I’m pertty sure we’ll be repeat customers. It is somewhere I would take someone for a nice dinner.

i drive in from Champaign once every month or two to dine at Mountain Jack’s. Some of the best food you will find. Axl Rose has dined there when he was back in Lafayette too, and for me thats very cool!

I took my son to dinner @ the Lafayette Mountain Jacks on 11/21/08. Not only was the food great, but the service was outstanding – that Mark is great. I am from Chicago and was almost convinced that we would never see great service in Lafayette after having been to many local Lafayette restaurants where the service level stinks, or it has some corporate-canned message. Thank you for at least one great restaurant in Lafayette.

This is by far my favorite place to go in Lafayette. The prime rib is amazing and the steaks (especially the New York Strip) are to die for. I love the salad wheel that comes to your table since I am picky about what I want on my salad. The desserts are great too, though they always bring the dessert tray to the table when I am too full to eat anymore. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves food that is made fresh, and not from a bag or box like most other restaurants.
