Association of Women Business Owners unveils new logo, tagline

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — At their annual evening social in June, the Association of Women Business Owners (AWBO) unveiled the results of a contest held for the development of a new organization logo and tagline. Approximately 40 members and guests were in attendance at Windows on the Levee for the event.

The AWBO Board of Directors chose the new logo because they felt it was a great font representation of both business and female character. The AWBO logo was designed by Lyndi McDonough, a 2008 Purdue University graduate and former Helen magazine intern from Mason, Ohio.

The new tagline is “Where women in business meet.” The tagline was adapted from one developed by Betsy Sattler of Indianapolis, a former Helen magazine intern and a senior at Purdue University majoring in visual communications design with minors in advertising/public relations and anthropology.

The winning entries were submitted by AWBO members Sharon Martin and Susan Woodson of Full Moon Communications. For submitting the winning entries, the women each receive a free AWBO membership for the 2008-2009 year. These creations were chosen from 30 entries.

With more than 100 members, AWBO is the only organization in the area specifically devoted to the networking and support of women business owners. For more information, visit www.awbo.org.

Women business owners in the Greater Lafayette community are invited to attend the monthly luncheon to hear Combs’ uplifting Mother’s Day message and to laugh and learn how to appreciate all that life has in store.

Founded in 1982, AWBO meets at MCL Cafeteria in West Lafayette at 11:45 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month to give Lafayette-area women an opportunity to concentrate on the managing and planning of their businesses.
