LAFAYETTE, Ind. -– A reception showcasing the works of local Indiana artists will be held at Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette, Indiana on Monday, July 20 at 4:30 pm in the Grand Hall.

The 4th annual Art on the Wabash will be held at West Lafayette’s Tapawingo Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009.
The 2009 Art on the Wabash juror chose artists from 15 different counties across Indiana. Their works will be displayed at the reception as well as the 4th annual Art on the Wabash fair in September.
Techniques on display include watercolors, pottery, sculpture, and jewelry.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Commencement exercises for Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at 2:00 pm in Elliott Hall of Music on Purdue University’s campus. Guests of graduates may arrive one hour prior to the ceremony.
From the Lafayette region, Ivy Tech will graduate 724 students who have earned an associate of applied science degree, associate of science degree, associate of arts degree, technical certificate, and/or certificate. Participating in the ceremony will be 327 students.
The ceremony will include a message from the president of Ivy Tech Community College, Thomas Snyder, and a commencement address by Connie Neininger, Executive Director for White County Economic Development.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. -– Ivy Tech Community College is accepting nominations for its annual Distinguished Alumni award. The chosen alumni will be honored at the college’s commencement ceremony on May 10 at 2:00 p.m. in Elliott Hall of Music, West Lafayette.
Nominees must be a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College and have received either an associate’s degree or a technical certificate, and not be a current Ivy Tech employee. Past award winners have been chosen for making a positive impact on their community, excelling in their chosen career, or outstanding support of Ivy Tech. LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College will hold the 3rd Annual Health Careers Job Fair on Thursday, February 19 from noon to 3:00 pm in Ivy Hall located at 3101 South Creasy Lane.
The Health Careers Job Fair, designed specifically for health professions, is an opportunity for recent graduates, soon-to-graduate students, and alumni to discover potential employment in the area.
More than 30 organizations will be in attendance looking for candidates from all health majors, and approximately 200 students and graduates are expected to attend.
Health care employers that would like to participate in this year’s Health Careers Job Fair can visit http://ivytech.edu/lafayette/career_services/careerFairForm.html to register. Booth space is free, and includes a table and chairs, electrical access, wireless web access, and a light lunch and refreshments. Space is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. -– Nine employees from five companies recently graduated from Ivy Tech Community College’s Six Sigma Institute. The companies represented were Kirby Risk, Fairfield, Federal Mogul, Voestalpine and Hollingsworth & Vose. The employees from Hollingsworth & Vose traveled from East Walpole, MA to participate in the institute. The group is the sixth class to graduate from the institute.
The graduates were awarded Black Belt status after completing over 200 hours of training and completing a process improvement project for their companies. Together the five teams solved problems that realized a total savings of $1.3 million dollars.
