Built in 1843
- The John Purdue Block is said to be the largest commercial trade center of its time west of New York City.
- It was originally a row of 12 buildings (Columbia to South Street)
- Built with bricks from John Purdue’s kiln.
- It is the only building remaining in Lafayette with direct association to the Wabash and Erie Canal.
