WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Produce vendors, artists, and entertainers are invited to join Sagamore West Farmers Market as it enters its fifth season in West Lafayette’s Cumberland Park off Salisbury Street. A call-out session is scheduled for Thursday, February 4 at 6:00p.m. at West Lafayette City Hall Council Chambers, 609 W. Navajo St., West Lafayette.

The weekly fresh-air market opens Wednesday, May 5 and will continue on Wednesdays from 3 to 6:30 p.m. through October 27, with an additional market day on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, November 24. Goods range from herbs and flowers to baked goods and jewelry. In the past, there have been occasional entertainment appearances, along with occasional grilling demonstrations throughout the market season.

Goods sold at the market must be grown, made, or produced in Indiana. The cost is $85.00 for the 27-week season. A limited number of spaces are available free-of-charge for area nonprofit — 501-3 (c) — organizations for promotional or fundraising purposes. Space for non-profits will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis.

Applications and information packets regarding vendor space allotments and day-to-day market operations will be available at the call-out session. A representative from the Tippecanoe County Health Department will be in attendance to discuss Health Dept. requirements and regulations.

Vendors are encouraged to register by April 2 for inclusion in marketing and planning for the 2010 season.
